We just got back from a long weekend at the beach......just the 4 of us. This is our first vacation with just us. We had the best time and made so many memories together. The kids still love the beach. I wish I had a beach in my back yard because it is the best way to spend the day and tire these twinkies out! We also dropped the morning nap on this trip. With school starting in a week it was time! We rented a two bedroom condo with a small living/kitchen area. You can actually see the building behind the kids in this pick. We wanted to have our own rooms and be able to hang out after the kids went to bed. It was the best set up and space for us. So glad we splurged for a condo over a hotel! We were also just a short walk to the beach!
Graham spent hours picking up sand....running....and throwing the sand.
We saw several planes very close to the water. You can see Ryan and Graham in the water and the plane flew right over them.
Love this wild little man. He can be very shy in public, but not this week! His personality was out in full force at the beach!
We would dig a hole each day and the twins loved getting in and out and playing in it!
For dinner one night we went out to eat at a nearby restaurants called Reds. The food and service was ok....but the view and boats were perfect!
After dinner we headed back to listen to some live beach music....we also ran into some Charlotte friends!
Who wants ice cream? Like these crazy kids need sugar haha!
Graham was flirting with the girls:)
Ryan cooked us breakfast every morning. We did go out one morning because a nearby place had gluten free bread....I could get any sandwich on GF bread!
High five for gluten free bread! We barely saw anyone on the beach. Felt like we were on our own private beach!
Watermelon break!
Sharing a snack while we got an afternoon coffee. Caught them eating the same cracker and then they would just giggle! These moments make having twins the best!
The twinkies go to bed around 7:30 which means Ryan and I had all night every night to ourselves. We had fun dinners, take out and played games. Felt like a real relaxing vacation!
We brought good red wine and I made a blueberry syrup for blueberry Moscow Mules! We love these drinks!
But our days were all about the beach....Ellie loved spending quality time with her daddy in water.
These two are such good buddies these days.We all four spent most of our time digging in the sand, listening to music and lots of splashing in the water.
They loved all the rockers around the island. We also found a fun toy store!
They were so sweet snuggling in the mornings together.
Last day on the beach....
Not a lot of people on the beach, but one lady on a morning run stopped us and offered to take our pic!
beach to ourselves again....
Ellie may wear pink and a bow....but she isn't afraid to get dirty:)
Now we are back and getting into a new routine before school starts next week. Summer has been amazing and now that this beach trip is over I am officially ready for football and fall!
