On Friday afternoon we headed to Ryan's parents lake house for the weekend. The kids have gotten to the age now where the lake is a lot easier and more fun. They always love to eat outside!
This girl was too cool for school on the boat ride to dinner.
We had a long week at our house so a pitcher of this yummy cocktail was the first thing I ordered! This boy loves black beans and "moley"
The waiter brought us these "Mexican Doritos" They were basically giant thick tortilla chips, but they entertained the kids for a while.
Everyone was full and happy after dinner at Prickly Pear!
Instead of going for the perfect family picture we went for a silly one! Love this picture and feel like it captures all of our crazy personalities.
The next morning we immediately put on bathing suits and got in the water. Ellie has such a love and comfort in the water. She is our daredevil and adventurous one for sure.
I wish I could bottle up this little boy sometimes. He is the absolute sweetest thing.
The lake is so calm in the mornings that we decided it was the perfect time to see Daddy wake board.
Graham was memorized and just kept laughing every time Ryan jumped or did a trick.
The kayaks were a huge hit too!
Graham loved watching Ellie jump off the dock and splash everyone.
Snack time and a game of corn hole....which turned in to Monkey in the Middle.
The giant tube provided the most entertainment!
Ellie is for sure our little fish in the water. She has no fear at all! She would jump off the dock into the water and swim around and then climb up the later by herself and do it again! These puddle jumper floats are a big no no in our swim lessons, but we got desperate and used them anyways!
After quick baths we relaxed on the hammock and collected sticks for a fire.
Ryan cooked us a shrimp sauté instead of a shrimp boil and it was delicious!
Paul birthday was the previous week so we celebrated together at the lake with this apple crisp!
The next day we were back in the water bright and early. We headed out before lunch time on Sunday so we could take good naps at home and make it to swim lessons that afternoon. Now back to reality and schedules and the kids first "camp" this week!
