The twins best friends have been at the beach all summer and they have missed them so much! Their sweet mama invited us to come down to Figure 8 for a few nights this past week!
These four just adore each other and picked up right where they left off. I thought they were so cute snuggling watching movies together the first night.
Everyone was very excited for the first trip to the beach together!
I noticed throughout the week that they all constantly hold hands with each other. It is funny how they don't just play with one, but they all four get along and break off into small groups.
We made salmon and shrimp the first night and let the kids have popsicles on the porch after dinner.
Two of the cousins were also at the beach while we were there and they were quite the outdoorsmen. They caught lots of crabs and brought the biggest in for us to cook. Erin and I were googling trying to figure out how to cook these and that provided lots of laughs and entertainment. In the end we figured it out and the older boys ate them (and didn't get sick haha).
The beach house they stayed in was in-between the ocean and the sound. I have to say I was shocked that we all had so much fun on the sound compared to the beach! There was so much to do and so many amazing sea creatures around! Max caught a sting ray!
I just loved watching Bobo and Ellie as they were introduced to all the new wildlife.
There were puddles, sea shells and animals all around. The kids just ran and had a ball!
They caught lots of conch and hermit crabs.
I caught a Bobo!
We ate most meals outside overlooking the sound. I caught the twins all holding hands saying the prayer together.
We also spent a lot of time on the beach.
The beach was just a short walk from the house but we still drove most days and on the way back we put the little ones on a tarp in the trunk and they thought they were so cool riding back there.
Erin mastered cooking crabs by the end of the week!
Most nights we would enjoy some wine on the back porch while watching the sunset.
The last day we spent most of our time on the sound.
Big boys caught a small shark!
We were sad to leave but so thankful for good friends and memories made!
