Where did September go????

I got on the blog today to check up on some friends and realized it has been a month since I last posted...yikes!!!  So here is a quick recap of our month:)
Football season has officially started!  We traveled to NC State's first game in Atlanta, GA.  Although we lost...we still had a great weekend and even better seats to the game!

While in Atlanta we also did lots of shopping, eating and saw a Braves game.

We read the Great Gatsby in book club.  Beth hosted and incorporated the theme in everything!  Some of us even dressed up!

We attended the first NC State home game of the season!

Ok now that September is over I am ready for Fall!!!!!

Rajin Cajun

On Friday night we had a few friends over for a Cajun themed dinner.  To start off we made Cajun Lemonade!
Here are the ingredients...equal parts Pimm's, Lemonade and vodka (we added a little more lemonade). Add a few dashes of hot sauce and top it off with a splash of lime seltzer and lemon wedge!

We had Cajun Crawfish Dip...sooo good!

We made Cajun Chicken Diane....a remake from a restaurant in Charlotte called Cajun Queen.  We used this recipe....we just added rice and two types of Andouille Sausage.

We also had two great veggie cajun flavored sides...

...and Bananas Fosters for dessert!  I love a good theme and this one was a huge hit!!!

Baby Shwedo!

Last Saturday I helped throw a shower for my dear friend, Emily.  I have met some of the best girl friends since moving to Charlotte and was so excited to help celebrate Baby Shwedo!  Our theme was Elephants and lots of PINK!

We had "Wishes for Baby" where you filled out your wishes for baby Shwedo...some were sweet and serious and some just funny!

Baby Shwedo is very loved already!

Our guest signed Emily's favorite childhood book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Our take-away was a bag full of circus peanuts!

Now we all are anxiously awaiting Lil Shwedo's arrival in late October...can't wait!!

After a great girls day and being surrounded by pink, we all went bowling for Chip's Birthday....so fun!!  If you haven't been to the newly remodeled Park Lanes in Charlotte you should!

What a fun weekend!  Now back to the real world...and Monday:(
