Twinkies in the City!

What a great way to kick off the holiday season...in NYC!!!  Normally when we fly I sit on between the twins and Ryan solo, but this plane was small and had two seats on both sides so Ellie picked to sit with Ryan.  I caught this cute moment...I just love the way she looks up to and admires him.
Our first stop once we got into the city was our hotel and this trendy burger spot called Burger Joint.  We had seen it on the Food Network and knew we would love it!

 They had delicious milkshakes too!
Then we took the kids out in the city to shop and see the Rockefeller tree.  13 years ago Ryan proposed to me right in this spot and he told the kids the entire story right where it happened.  What a special moment!

We watched the light show and window displays at Saks before doing some shopping!
Oh sometimes she just cracks me up!

The next morning we stopped by the Today show and ate breakfast at Sarabeths.
Then we walked to Central Park for ice skating!
We got there right when they opened and it was not crowded at all!

This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!  So many giggles and memories made!

We tried to do an activity that was active followed by some down time.  We decided a carriage ride was the best way to relax after ice skating!

Next stop was the Plaza Hotel.  Sometimes to get them to smile in a pic I try to say something funny....usually this makes Bobo actually laugh or smile, but Ellie is concentrating so hard on if I am being serious or joking that her face is stuck haha!

They had a Home Alone booth set up and this boy is obsessed with both Home Alone 1 and 2!
And of course we shopped at Eloise's store and saw her painting.

Quick bite and a rest before lots of sugar.
We put our name on the list at Serendipity and headed to Dylan's Candy Store and Bloomingdales while we waited.
"Mom look at all the purple candy!!!"

Of course these two loved the frozen hot chocolate!!!

 Post sugar cab naps!
We rested and got dressed up for a night out!

All four of us loved the Radio City Rockettes show.  They do an amazing job of capturing the attention of littles and bigs, boys and girls!

 The live manger was spectacular!
She is telling me every detail of the show and what she loved about it.
We decided to let the kids swim in our hotel pool and order room service up there that night.  The views of the city at night were really cool.

The next morning we grabbed a quick breakfast and then went to Top of the Rock for great views over the city.
Next up was lots and lots of shopping!  Ellie got a "doll with hair" from the American Girl store and Bobo got lots of legos!

There was a section of the store where you could make your own lego people and this little builder loved it!

 Quick street meat stop.....
Then we had lots of down time at Eataly.  We slowly ordered meat and cheese plates, wine, pizza and pasta, coffee, gelato and cannolis.

Ellie wore her special pearl necklace her God Mother gave her before the trip all weekend.  So blessed to have such an amazing thoughtful woman in her life!
And yes she is a mess:)
After a long day out we again took cab naps and went back to the hotel to rest and dress up!

For dinner we went to The Smith because Ellie really wanted to the blue cheese fondue chips!
She also has her mommies love of mussels and french fries!
On our last day we got bagels, toured around Time Square and went to the Natural Museum of History (or Night at the Museum if you ask the twins).

We went by Time Square and the twins LOVED the M&M store!

One of the kids favorite things all weekend was catching cabs.  They all three mastered it by the end of the weekend...I mean who wouldn't want to give these three cuties a ride?
For a late lunch we ate outside of Bouchon Bakery and had the perfect view of the tree!
Traveling with my family might be my favorite thing to do!  Loved the change of pace this vacation brought to our normal tropical beach routine.  I hope to do lots of different and unique experience, but NYC might be a place we come back to again and again!
