The calm before the storm

The weather in Charlotte has been perfect!   We have enjoyed lots of outdoor fun this week in anticipation of Hurricane Matthew bringing lots of rain, wind and storms this weekend.  Our back yard currently looks like this......
So we have been playing on the "common area" a few houses down.
These two are very into chase and hide and seek lately!

The twins sometimes fight over who gets what bike or car so I told them to share or take turns....they took turns driving each other!

We love our street and the amazing outdoor areas.  It is truly a kids dream!
We have been making almost every meal at home.  We love to cook and luckily have very adventurous eaters.  Ryan made us filet with blue cheese and made the kids their own individual mini steaks.
They ate every bite!  Don't all toddlers like filet with blue cheese?
We have had a few playdates this week.  We got to bake and play with the Harrell boys!
We played games with our sweet neighbor.
Made necklaces with our best girl friends!
I love this activity for this age for so many reasons.  They walk around and decide on a theme, then have to search and count their beads, make a pattern and then string them.  Lots of learning and fine motor skills wrapped into a fun activity!

We have been riding around with the sunroof and windows open!  Love Bobo's face here...."yep my sister is crazy"
We took the kids on another golf date.
Bobo is in his happy place when he is on the course with his Daddy.
These two would count 1...2...3 and swing at the same time.
 Ellie still loves to drive....fast...

And we have been making pumpkin everything!  This week I had to be home one day while kids were in school, to meet plumbers and electricians, so I spent the entire 3 hours in the kitchen!  I made pumpkin granola, pumpkin muffins, raspberry jam and pumpkin pancakes!  My favorite fall food is white chicken chili and tomato soup with grilled pimento cheese sandwiches.  The kids loved grilled cheese dunked in tomato soup too!

Ellie said "It is kinda like ketchup, but hot!"
Now that nice weather is gone and it is gloomy and non stop raining out.  We are hoping Hurricane Matthew passed fast and everyone stays safe....and we want that nice fall weather back soon!
