You have to love a good hobby! Mine is cooking, crafting and blogging! For Clark's dad its collecting decoys. I knew nothing about decoys! For years Corey and Clark have been talking about his dads collection and we all wanted to see it for ourselves so Corey arranged a Decoy Extravaganza night!
Mr. Andresen has been collecting decoys for decades. He has been featured in Garden and Gun and even written a book. He is on several committees and a mentor to almost a dozen other people!
We went from room to room admiring all the decoys carefully displayed throughout the house (minus the sunroom- no decoys allowed in that one room!) He even told us a few stories about how this hobby started and what it has become. He has over 1300 decoys!!!
The last stop on the tour was his decoy room. Yep we went through an entire house of decoys and that wasn't even considered the decoy room!
This room was beyond incredible! All the years and time and effort into collecting and preserving and displaying these beautiful wooden decoys is amazing.
Before we left we took a group picture with Kroghie and his big wall of decoys. To me they kind of all look alike, but to him they are all so unique and special.
We kept saying how many he had on the walls and in the house and he laughed and said there are decoys behind all the walls in special storage...we had to see it to believe it!
What a fun night! Love spending time with friends and their families! Who else has a hobby this cool that we can come see and learn about???
Those decoys might put some grandkids through college when they are sold (depending on what he has)...
