First day of soccer

G and E started soccer yesterday!  Graham has been watching Ellie's ballet class every single week since August and kept saying "next time I play soccer" so what is a mom to do??  I signed them both up for soccer and they LOVED it!!!  We were a little early so we played on the swings while we waited for our coach.  The day worked out perfectly because Ryan had an empty late afternoon schedule so he was able to make it to soccer to watch and the weather was 70 and clear skies!

The twins best friends are on the team as well.  This moment melted my heart as I watched the four of them walk to practice.
Ellie waved high to us about 10 times...."Hi mom, Hi dad!"
The coach is great with this age group. She kept saying everyone kick the marshmallow(soccer ball) into the orange mouth(goal).  She would play tons of games and say funny things to get kids attention.  We really lucked out because kids loved her and didn't want soccer to be over.
We need to work on Graham not using his hands to play soccer, but overall they had a great first day and were worn out from all the running.

  1. Oh man, swings AND soccer!? I'm an adult and that still looks fun to me! It's so great to see the smile on those kids’ faces, and knowing that they are getting in some good exercise as well. Maybe Graham has been watching too much football and not enough soccer! Thank you for sharing!
