Ellie and Casper the friendly white horse

This little girl has been begging to learn how to ride a horse for months now.  At first I thought it would fade....but it didn't.  She only checks out horse books from the library, wants horse toys and stickers and constantly asks when she can ride.  Finding a place with open spots for a 4 year old is not easy.  After a lot of emails and phone calls we finally got her signed up.  I will say several friends in Charlotte grew up riding, but unfortunately the few recommended places were either booked, didn't return my calls or didn't take 4 year olds.  Luckily we found a place only 45 min from our house (and not 1-1.5 like most).  We arrived and she jumped out of the car asking a million questions.
Her teacher Ms. Lauren walked her back to meet her pony and Ellie followed behind will a skip in her step.
She rode the cutest white horse named Casper.

She learned all the basics and had an absolute blast!

At the end of the lesson she gave Casper a peppermint and got to brush him.  She even went and got Bobo a blue brush so he could help out!
What a sweet sweet horse to let such a tiny little girl ride him and be so brave and gentle.

I am now thinking this isn't going to be a one time thing.  I love that she is so strong, independent and knows what she wants and goes after it.  It made me so happy to see her finally do something she was looking forward to and her spirits not be crushed or disappointed at all!
